Job Description

The IT Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and scalability of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves managing hardware and software systems, supporting end-users, maintaining network and server environments, and implementing technology solutions that align with business needs. The IT Engineer plays a critical role in safeguarding data, optimizing system performance, and enabling digital collaboration across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Monitor, maintain, and upgrade operating systems, networks, and servers to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Administer and support NSV’s IT infrastructure including firewalls, network switches, NAS storage, and backup systems.
  • Manage cloud services and platforms, particularly Microsoft 365 Admin Center (Exchange Online, Endpoint Manager, SharePoint, Azure AD).

User & Device Support

  • Procure, configure, and deploy IT equipment (computers, printers, mobile devices) for new hires.
  • Set up user accounts, email mailboxes, access permissions, and security protocols.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures including antivirus, firewalls, and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and manage renewals.
  • Maintain data integrity and execute data recovery procedures when necessary.

Lifecycle Management

  • Onboard new employees with appropriate IT access and tools.
  • Offboard exiting employees by revoking access, disabling accounts, and securing data.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations, and procedures.

Project & Vendor Coordination

  • Collaborate with vendors for procurement, warranty claims, and service agreements.
  • Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and process automation.

Job Specifications Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, ITIL) are a plus.

Experience

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in IT support or systems administration.
  • Experience in managing cloud-based environments and enterprise-level networks.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems, LAN/WAN configurations, and internet protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions.
