Technical Engineer – Commercial

Job purpose

The Technical Engineer – Commercial is responsible for commercial tire market quality and performance to support BSMEA sales within our dedicated markets. The successful candidate will work directly with the technical and sales teams and distributers to provide technical support to resolve quality issues and performance issues from identification to escalation and technical support, this will include the training of relevant counterparts within distributors.  The effective management of product claim handling system to deliver quick and transparent process is also of vital importance. In addition after sales tire follow up and tire regulation related technical document preparation is scope of this role.
Main responsibilities

  • Be accountable of the commercial tire market quality and performance visualization.
  • Not only reports incidents internally but also investigates root cause of problem.
  • Support QA functions to identification of all defects, also facilitates improvement with other internal functions such as, manufacturing, R&D, and Quality Assurance teams to prevent reoccurrence
  • Ensure reporting to the BSEMIA Head Office / TCE / BSJ / TCJ about the different technical topics relative to our product quality and performance
  • Collaboration and communication with relevant stakeholders (e.g. sales, product planning, marketing)
  • Coordinate tire technical support to distributor to resolve tire quality and performance related technical inquires, arrange technical training.
  • Manage and further improve product claim handling system with IT and local vender.
  • Ensure after sales tire monitoring program implementation and continuous improvement, together with summary report making and problem detection.
  • Maintain tire regulation related technical document, such as certification and test report with internal stakeholders in ,  certificates and test reports up to date, communicate with other internal functions.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tire industry within technical segment
  • Experience of account management and technical sales
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Power BI)
  • Engineering University Degree holder
  • Fluency in English, Arabic advantageous
